Welcome 2015!

Happy New Year to my friends and followers! It's hard to believe how fast this year has gone by. Seems the older you get the faster time passes and you look back and wonder if you really appreciated everything and took in all that life presented in the past year. I am so thankful for God's wonderful blessings in the past year and look forward to the new year ahead.

And to start the New Year, here's a little fairy to grant your fondest wishes - perhaps a win in the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday?!! The challenge starts today and I hope you'll find time to join in the fun.

It's a blast from the past sketch with a TWIST - add SPARKLE and SHINE to your card.

We're so happy to welcome back Sami Stamps as our sponsor of the challenge this week. Our grand prize winner will receive a $12 gift certificate for digis from Sami Stamps. What a fantastic prize - thanks Sami for your generous sponsorship!

I chose this adorable Little Flower Fairy from Sami Stamps to create my inspiration card for you. She was brought to life with Copic markers and with lots of fairy dust on her wings. The papers are a few years old from My Mind's Eye.

Now be sure to stop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the other gorgeous creations with Sami Stamps from the design team. And help start the New Year on a positive note by sending a little love to my team mates on their blogs.

Merry Christmas!

Here's wishing all my friends and followers a very Merry Christmas! Today's also the start of a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday so I hope you have your shopping done and are ready for a little card-making fun.

Here's the challenge sketch for the week. I rotated it to fit the image I chose and either way it turns out great!

This week we are sponsored by Mary Ellen at Dearie Dolls. Oh my goodness, I just adore these digis that Mary Ellen creates and she so generously posts freebies all the time at her site. There are some exclusive images sold through her Dearie Dolls Etsy store too. Thanks Mary Ellen!

I chose this adorable Snowman Christmas Lights Swing image for my challenge card and colored it with Copic markers. I added a little frosted lace Stickles on the snowflakes and bit of glitter to the lights with a glitter gel pen. I strung the lights that I found at my local craft store with green bakers twine - I thought they were just the perfect touch with this darling snowman. The papers are from My Mind's Eye.

Now stop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the other wonderful images from Dearie Dolls and wish my design team mates a Merry Christmas too!

Have a blessed Christmas and thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Bears

Welcome back friends! Today's card features the new sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and an image from our sponsor this week, Meljen's Designs.

The challenge sketch is an easy one to put together but still has nice layers and areas for terrific embellishments if you're so inclined.

Melissa Jenkins at Meljens Designs is our sponsor of the challenge this week. It's been a while since Meljen's has been at SSW and we're so happy to have her back with those adorable images we all love.  The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive four non-colored digis of their choice - a fantastic prize! Thanks for your generous sponsorship Melissa!

I chose the Bitty Christmas Tree Bears to create with from Meljens Designs. I love these darling bears! The image was colored with Copic markers and a ton of lace stickles added for the snow and on the star. The papers are My Mind's Eye Merry collection.

The Sweet Sketch Wednesday design team is featuring several images from Meljen's this week and they are all fantastic. Hop on over to SSW to see their inspiration for you.

Santa is Going to Town!

Here's a fun Christmas card for you today. We're having some fun over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday with a new sketch and Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor.

This is a great sketch for any kind of image. I think it would be especially pretty with a vintage look.

Jodie at Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring our challenge at SSW2 this week. We always love to create with the images she creates. The grand prize winner will receive 7 free digi stamps from Bugaboo - an amazing prize.  You have to be in the challenge to win it so I hope you join us this week.

I chose this hysterical Gus character image from Bugaboo this week. I was in the mood for an irreverent Christmas card!  Old Gus was colored with Copic markers and the papers are Christmas Cheer by Echo Park.

Several others on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday design team also created humorous Christmas cards with the digis from Bugaboo. Hop on over to the blog to take a look.

For "Owl" of You!

Happy Wednesday and Thanksgiving to "owl" of you! We have a fun blast from the past sketch this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and a new sponsor for the challenge too. There's also a Twist - use buttons and/or bows on your creation.

Here's the oldie but goodie sketch for this week - originally appearing in Week 190 from SSW in January 2013. It's a great sketch and fun to put together.

Our new sponsor this week is Diane Noble, owner and illustrator of the wonderful digis at Diane's Daydream Designs. The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a $10 coupon to Diane's store. Thanks for your generous sponsorship Diane!

I chose this adorable owl from the Owl Always Love You set at Diane's Daydream Designs. It was digitally paper pieced, printed several times so I could cut it out and layer it for dimension. The eyes were a perfect place for the buttons to go!

Now head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see more images from Diane's Daydream Designs on cards the design team created.

Happy Birthday Daughter!

This week we're celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday and her new freedom gained through getting her driver's license!  This is the card I created for her using the new sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This reminds me so much of her walking our dog Tillie, as well as her shopping!

Here's the sketch to follow this week. It can be very simple or with some terrific embellishments and diecuts, very detailed. Either way it goes together pretty quickly and looks great. Give it a try and join us this week.
Digi Stamp Boutique is our sponsor for the challenge and we all love the images that Sally Ann offers in her shoppe.  The grand prize winner will receive a £10 voucher to Digi Stamp Boutique - a super prize!

This new DSB image is Shopping Kate and it was colored with Copic markers. The papers are My Mind's Eye.

Now head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see the design team creations using Digi Stamp Boutique images - some really cute ones this week!

Autumn Song Birdies

Hi there friends! We're sticking with the fall theme again this week for the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. And I'm sure you can tell with these adorable little birdies that Doodle Pantry is back as our sponsor.

Let's start with this fun new sketch from Sally. I like how the simple panels on the right and left frame the center image. It goes together really quick and looks terrific.

I'm so glad that Doodle Pantry is back as our sponsor this week. Laurie Wilson creates such wonderful characters, beautiful scenes and realistic flowers. My favorite characters are the birdies as you can tell from my card this week!  The grand prize winner of challenge will receive a $10 coupon to the Doodle Pantry shop - a fantastic prize.  Thanks for your generous sponsorship Laurie!

This darling image is Autumn Song Birdies and it comes in a set with several sentiments, digi papers and both line drawing and pre-colored versions of the image. I chose one of the precolored versions here and paired it with scraps from my stash that had an autumn feel but also picked up the colors from the image.

To see more of the cute images from Doodle Pantry, stop on by Sweet Sketch Wednesday. The design team has a fun variety of images to inspire you this week.

Blessing a Flower

Welcome back to my blog! I'm featuring some inspiration for you in the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week. We're showcasing A Day For Daisies digi stamps - my favorite stamp company - so let's get started.

Here's our sketch to follow in making up your cards. It turns out so pretty in real life and works great with beautiful papers and embellishments.

A Day For Daisies is our sponsor of the challenge this week. Tammy's images are so wonderful to create with and there is such a fantastic selection to choose from. Lots of fairies, children, mothers and animals with some terrific vintage look images as well.  The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a $12 gift certificate to the A Day For Daisies shop - an amazing prize.

I chose this beautiful fairy from ADFD called Blessing a Flower and colored it up with Copic markers. Some added glitter and pairing with pretty and colorful new papers from My Mind's Eye and a dreamy new card was created.
